And we made it back alive and undamaged
Dec. 21st, 2008 05:57 pmDespite general wisdom, we drove off this morning to get the kid to the airport for his 2:45 pm flight.
The drive was tense. The roads are passable, barely, if you have four wheel drive and snowtires or, like us, chains. HIlls were a serious challenge, and we could see it getting worse as the day progressed.
Having made it home in one piece, I'm not going out again until the roads are clear - but having almost nothing besides schoolwork required right now, that's not a big issue.
If I was working a regular job somewhere off-island, I'm sure I'd work out some way that didn't involve getting our little car out of the driveway again.
