An insider view

I haven't been online much the last several days (yeay work! (absolutely no sarcasm there, for those who don't know me)), and so I've seen almost nothing of the troubles over in London and environs. But this morning Diane Duane pointed out a LiveJournal post that put perspective and understanding to the whole sad mess, and hence this post.

Hmm. Interesting. It may just have inspired me to volunteer in a school library this fall, even though that would be (cough) what I consider hard work, as interacting with youth does not come naturally to me. BTW, I always though she was white. Am I wrong?

Diane Duane is white, but I don't know rosamicula. What counts as "white" tends to vary wildly depending on the audience anyway, as anyone on the borderline will sadly attest to.

I don't know that I see as much straightforward "poverty sparks this behavior" as the poster did, but then, I'm not there.
