Date: 2004-11-11 11:22 am (UTC)While there were certainly drawbacks to it - your parents get to make all their biggest mistakes on you first, and in my case I was asked to take on probably more responsibility than was wise - the advantages have far outweighed the disadvantages.
For one thing, even though I am in reality Quite Short (just shy of 5' 0") in my head I am the tallest, biggest person in the group.
