The answer to this is lost to the mists of time. It probably involves the very close relationship enjoyed by two stores on Clark Street in the late 80s.

Not as such, no.

I can picture those circumstances, and would be happy to do so; but the circumstances seem pretty unlikely to me.

I'm a professional solipsist deflater who wandered into your bookstore one day in the late 80's, when you were still on Wellington

5. Would you kiss me? Yes. But I'd rather bake you a chocolate quiche. The recipe can be found in an excellent chocolate recipe book by Judith Olney, with a cabbage made of chocolate on the front. It requires two pounds of Caullebaut chocolate, eight egg yolks, heavy cream in some quantity, and a stick, for beating off admirers. Also the occasional triple bypass.

I shall call you Bam-bam, for it is a name that deserves better connotations than it has at present.

Aha! I thought. The bookstore lady!

Yes, bookstore lady. Your bookstore was so platonic in its ideality that it is eternal, as far as I'm concerned.

Anyone with a handle of the_leewit is someone likely to be fun to know. And now that the bookstore is gone I don't see people much anymore - but when i do see them we cna actually talk for more than 10 seconds.

Sigh... don't do cons much, any more. I *always* misinterpret the flirting cues, with disastrous results. (Okay, not disastrous. But I *do* find men who walk past me when I am drab from a hard day's work and no makeup and shapeless sweats irritating when they grab me and lay whatever flesh they can on me without permission and in front of my s/o... irritating.) (sorry, personal rant, I'll stop.)

But any time you care to have coffee bought for you, or maybe someone to comb the want ads next to...
