The Kid and I had Dim Sum this morning, then headed north to get some work done before scooting down to the airport to pick up [livejournal.com profile] crenelle.

Collecting up my various items, I realized my car keys were not in their usual pocket-bulging spot. And they weren't in the backpack either. ... Yep, I had locked them in the car. I can even see them sitting next to the drivers seat, where they had no doubt fallen from my pocket.

I briefly debated the fast, easy, "break the window and fix it later" method - but it's not like we're in a hurry.

Settled for calling the first big Locksmith ad in the Yellow Pages (that new Dex thing) that said they do emergency response. They also said things like "15 minutes" and "Lowest cost" but I kinda doubt those.

The phone tree that you have to follow is repetitive, but I did eventually reach a person who said they would send someone in 20 to 30 minutes, and that they'd phone 10 minutes before they arrived. That was at 5:15.

They called now, as I was typing this (5:35), confirmed the address and said they'll be here in 20 minutes.

I mostly hope they don't have troubles getting it open once they arrive. Will I wish I had just broken the window?

It's not so bad.

[livejournal.com profile] minnehaha's keys left with her husband. He's in Singapore.

Ok, where was I in all this?
