Long time, no LJ.
Not really true, in that I've been reading everyone else's entries quite consistantly - I just don't get around to posting much.
Within the last week I have: Hosted a house party! Cleaned the house in advance of the party! Received Advance Reader copies of The New Space Opera (edited by Dozois and Strahan), The Serpent Bride (by Sara Douglas) and Misress of Winter (by Carwyn and Fahnstock)! Read all three Naomi Novik novels! Given notice at my Post Office job (I'll stay until the end of June)! Learned more about Photoshop! Volunteered to help with Potlatch 17! Planted Jasminum nudiflorum (winter jasmine) by the fence of the flagstone courtyard! Ordered several hostas for the shade part of my japanese-style side garden!

I've bought three houses so far in my life, and getting the contract signed was always the big moment. Closing on the place is just piles of paperwork in a room full of people you don't know.
