Jan. 11th, 2007 07:53 amThis would be a decent snowfall even in Chicago - here on rainforest Vashon it's especially impressive.
I have (had?) a big, bushy arbutus tree in front of the house. This morning it was all the way down to the ground. To my surprise, the root ball still seems well-anchored and knocking the weight of snow off brought it lurching up somewhat. I'll wait until this weekend and the expected melt-off to tether the thing upright again.
Meanwhile - school is closed, the planned weeding outside with the guy who does our yardwork is postponed, and maybe I'll really get farther in cleaning the house!
