Travelling to the Midwest

Next Tuesday I'm flying over to Chicago, on my way to the World Fantasy Convention in Madison WI. I'll be working at the DreamHaven table. so I won't see much of the programming, but I hope to have a very fine time chatting with people both at the table and afterwards.

So, anyone up for dinner plans?

Unclear-- are you talking about dinner in Madison during the con (I won't be attending), or dinner in Chicago on Tuesday night (I would be interested)?

I guess I meant both - I have no idea who is going to be at WFC and this seemed like a good place to ask.

I expect to be coming back from the con either Sunday or Monday (not really sure how long Greg needs me, or who's heading back, or wether I'm going to opt for a bus).

I plan to have dinner at Tokyo Marina, one of my favorite Japenese restaurants, on Tuesday night. It's on Clark near Foster. Wednesday night I'm doing family stuff. But any other times are open. And I can probably borrow a car if I need to come out to the 'burbs where you guys are.

Possibilities?

And it feels Really Strange to be flying back just as WindyCon starts. But I was already waffling on the expense of membership, hotel, food, etc. when I realized that Mike is going to be in Calfornia that weekend (Hackers) and I'm not comfortable leaving the kid on his own for so long.

To be more precise, I'm just fine with leaving him alone - he's almost 13, very responsible and trustworthy - but if there were to be any sort of a problem, I can just imagine the fallout.

Yeah, I got to enjoy a very lively dinner with
minnehaha K and her family, along with Special Guest Star skyblue0.

K, look on the bright side: I may get to have two dinners with cool people.
