I just received an email accepting my application into the Center for Leadership Formation's Executive MBA program. Orientation is Monday. They want a "professional headshot photograph" ASAP. They haven't mentioned yet how much money they're going to need or when - I suppose that will come up during Orientation. A package with the acceptance and perhaps books will arrive by Tuesday.

Time for much scurrying.

And I suppose I should put together some school specific icons ...

I hadn't even considered the Executive MBA when I was looking at schools, because the deadline for application was April 1st. So I was quite surprised when the admissions office called and recommended that I apply for that one rather than the regular MBA program.

Even since I've wondered just a bit if the Executive MBA is like the Science for Artists version of an MBA...

Probably not, since just going by stats, the Exec MBAs tend to make more money after school. In any case I think I'll prefer the cohort system the EMBA uses (students are considered as a group, everyone progresses through the same classes together) to the rolling enrollment that the regular MBA has (join in any quarter, drop out for a while if convenient).

I'm about equal measures excited and anxious.

The Ultimate Goal is to land a job working with larger groups of people that pays enough for my husband to stay home instead of me.

I really like my job at Studio Foglio, but it's likely to remain part-time, and even at full time would not cover all the costs of our current luxurious lifestyle.

At least in Chicago, the diff between EMBA and MBA largely has to do with pace, and focus.

EMBAs tend to be faster pace, and take an "overview" of many business aspects.

std. MBA seems to be a slower pace, and focused on a narrower range, but a little deeper into each topic.

If you need advice/sympathy/whatever from a fellow MBA student, just holler.

So now I'm scurrying around the house looking for things to sell so we can afford this thing. Anyone want a blue and white original Furby? I have an excellent collection of first and second edition C++ manuals I'd be willing to let go for a song. A couple Turbo Prolog books, hmmm. Box of tiny lead figurines. A couple of Lord of the Rings posters, dual-sided, thick cardboard and wax-coated, designed to hang in a storefront window. Hm, too late to train for the Olympics.
