End of June I left my Post Office job, and sold my right hand drive Subaru. We had talked some about how very nice it had been to have two cars, so I've been more than usually alert to used car offerings.

Then a friend of ours mentioned in a group email that he needed to find new homes for two of his older cars, one of which was ugly but functional. "How ugly? How functional? And how much?" "Very, very, and cheap!"

Hey, I've always wanted to learn how to do bodywork on a car, and here's my chance! I present, my summer project:

Neat!

Body work is painstaking and time consuming. That should keep you busy!

That looks like potentially a lot of fun, both to fix and to have after it's fixed. Good luck!

Looks like a good project to me!

Are you going to paint it white so you can go all Emma Peel?

Good project... www.harborfreight.com has cheap prices on body dollies and hammers and the like... get a good particulate mask for your sanding and painting. You will need to get some stuff from a body shop supply/automotive paint store...particularly 600 - 1500 grit wet dry sandpaper and various other body finishing supplies.

Lots of work, but very rewarding when done. The Miata is a great car...should be lots of fun.
