End of weekend status check: did not get the lawn mowed (or the mower assembled) as it had been either raining or so foggy that everything is wet regardless.

It's been very pretty, however - especially the large tree just outside my window, which turned a most impressive reddish gold, and has been loosing its leaves very slowly.

I finally redrew the logo for my imagined Web site update. Step one of probably a hundred that need to be completed before I'll have anything to show off.

Watched more anime and cartoons than was probably wise, including the entire first season of Samurai Jack, episodes #105 through #108 of Naruto and #4 and 5 of Bleach. I joined a Meetup Group for Seattle anime fans, and hope to be able to get together with them.

There's also the beginnings of a gathering of fellow Lois McMaster Bujold readers coalescing this Thursday in Seattle. So the social aspects are looking up.

Cookies were baked, but the first several batches were sub-optimal as I continue to adapt to an electric oven. Have not finished cleaning all the dishes that the weekend's activities produced.

Only half-a-dozen boxes emptied - but then it's only 5 PM here right now, so there's every change of getting more done tonight. OR I could watch some more anime....

Did I somehow miss the fact that you joined the LMB list off of dendarii.com? Or is it that you know someone who's on the list?

I've been skipping over discussion on-list of a Seattle MiniLoisCon for the last several days.

Oh, I joined a while back, but I don't post much. And when I do post, it's very rare that there's any reply, so whatever I've said is immediately lost in the chatter.

Recently I sent a kinda long, somewhat discouraging breakdown on what the person considering doing a cookbook might reasonably expect to have happen.

I had hoped that this potential gathering of LMB fans might happen in downtown Seattle, which is a lot more interesting as well as easier to get to, but so far the only person with a firm suggestion wants to pick a chain restauant in a suburban mall.

I wouldn't normally encourage so much Off Topic posting in a dedicated list, but I'm not sure how else to do it - and the tolerance of Birthday Trixies makes it clear that it's not a big deal there.

Hmm - I'm trying to remember if the FAQ includes the List Denizens. ... Yep, it does!

There's the OT Thug - responsible for reminding people to use the "OT:" tag.

There's the Quote Pixie - responsible for taking people to task for insufficient trimming when replying to messages.

And the Birthday Tixie, whom you've already seen.

We're pretty forgiving of length of thread, but very UNforgiving of tone. Anything that slips into flaming will get pounded on. Anything that makes other list members unhappy will get remarked on. We want a civil yet eclectic list!

Part of it is a recognition that - for most, practically all of us - there isn't enough unread work to keep a purely on-topic list going. So we have an on-going conversation circle, which becomes pretty dedicated when the new book comes out.
